12 Simple Ways To Relieve stress

 
Stress is untalked about by many but lived with by many. Most people often do not really realize how stress they are until it is too late. Stress can take a complete toll on you mentally, physically and emotionally irrespective of your age, financial background or the status of your health.


According WHO (World Health Organisation), stress is defined as " any type of change that causes physical, emotional or psychological strain. Stress is your body's response to anything that requires attention or action."


There are numerous ways one can avoid stress in any form of situation he or she finds himself or herself.

1. Eat a good, healthy food the right way.
Eating a well balanced diet each day is said to be one way a person can improve his of her health holistically. Do not just eat food for eating sake. Make sure it is very balanced and healthy. Eat on time as well. And always make sure you include fruits in your diet.

2. Get enough sleep.
Seven or more hours of regular sleep in a night is enough to calm your nerves, calm your mind and prevent stress ultimately.
Less sleep means more stress and more sleep means less stress. Keep that in mind and develop a good sleeping habit.

3. Exercise.
Frequent exercising of the body has proven over and over again to be a very good way to energize the body and relieve stress. Exercising at least half an hour daily is said to be very good and quite enough for the human body.

4. Meditation.
Frequent meditation relieves stress by calming the body through the control of the mind. The mind is everything. If it well controlled, everything can be controlled. More control, less stress.

5. Swimming.
Swimming is therapeutic and an exercise as well. Calms your whole body down and revitalizes you.
Swimming in the morning or afternoon is quite good because it is very fun and entertaining. And both fun and entertainment are enemies to stress. They drive it away very quickly.

6. Hiking.
How often do you hike? Hiking is one of those exercises that touches on almost all the muscles of your body. It also works on your heart and mind. Hiking is done in open air areas and that makes the heart happy because it gets enough oxygen. The mind and the heart are one way or the other, connected. When the heart receives more oxygen, it pumps more oxygenated blood to all parts of the body including the mind. So the happier the heart, the happier the mind, the lesser the stress.

7. Listen to music.
What kind of music do you listen to? Well, most health professionals do point out specific music types that are good in relieving stress but I think you should just pay attention to yourself and realize yourself that this is the kind of music helps you calm down. Make conscious effort to put together a playlist.

8. Spending more time with nature.
Nature is nature. It is natural and pure and has pure energy that is unexplainable. Nature is just therapeutic and has a way of mesmerising the mind and the body to feel calm and relaxed. Imagine you in an environment surrounded by nature, with birds and butterflies flying all over and sweet scent of the scented flowers scenting all over; just imagine that. You are surely going to be relaxed and forget about all your problems.


9. Have sex.
Having lots of sex, according to health experts, is really good for general health. We talking about sex here but not just any sex; safe sex is what we are talking. You do not wanna add up to your stress by attracting any form of sexually transmitted infections due to unprotected sex


10. Try yoga.
Get a well informed yoga instructor to take you through yoga poses that help calm the body and release stress. If you cannot afford an instructor, watch some yoga videos on YouTube, learn some poses on there and that may be quite enough to begin with.

11. Socialize.
Spend time with family and friends. Connect with people everywhere you find yourself. Sharing thoughts and ideas releases stress way more than one can think. Do not be afraid to open up. Helps prevent stress.


12. Cuddling.
Cuddling, just like sex, pushes the body to release oxytocin in high amounts and significantly lower cortisol. This reduces blood pressure and heart rate. High blood pressure and heart rate is one of the major causes of stress. Reduction in them means reduction in stress literally.
